Viz Media has pushed the release date of the most anticipated box set to January 25, 2022. Just hope that this is the last time the release has been rescheduled, taking the holidays into account, pretty sure it’s crazy out there. UPDATE AS OF (2-FEB-2021)

Upon contacting Viz Media Customer Support regarding the release of the One Piece Box Set 4, there is no tentative or definitive release date. Here is a copy of the email.

Disappointed? Well, don’t be, there is a speculation going around that the tentative release date for the One Piece Box Set 4 is 11 March 2021. How is that you might ask? If you search google for One Piece Box Set 4, here is the first result. Is google trying to hint us towards the release date even though the Viz Officials aren’t?

Enough of speculations, here is what we know about the past trends:

One Piece Box Set 4

1. As it is evident, each One Piece Box Set contains 23 to 24 volumes.
2. The first, second and third box sets were released in years 2013, 2014 & 2016 respectively. Considering the release years, the next box set is overdue.
3. However, for the next box of One Piece to be released, Viz Media requires atleast the next 23 Volumes, that would be from 71 to 94 (approx).
4. The reason why we didn’t get the box set earlier and had to wait for so long was because the Volume 94 was released not so long ago in August 2020.

But wait, there is more. The Third Box Set contained the Story Arcs Thriller Bark to New World Saga, to be more specific Punk Hazard Story Arc in Dressrosa Saga that ends at Volume 70.

So what all Sagas would the fourth box set of One Piece Manga contain?

1. Dressrosa Saga – The Dessrosa Story Arc in The Dressrosa Saga, spans from Volume 71 to 80.
2. Four Emperors Saga – This saga contains several story arcs namely
   • Zou – Volumes 80 to 82
   • Whole Cake Island – Volumes 82 to 90
   • Levely – Volume 90
   • Wano Country – Volume 90 to (still ongoing / TBA).

The Wano Country Story arc is still ongoing, and so far it spans through volumes 90 to 98 (the latest release as of Feb 2021, story arc still ongoing).

Conclusion / Final Remarks

Depending on what Viz Media decides, the fourth Box Set could contain Volumes 71 to 90, that is about 20 Manga Volumes. In this case, the Box Set should be out in no time, since Volume 90 was released in May 2019.  It is safe to assume that the Pandemic Situation rattled their release schedule.

However, if Viz decides to include the Wano Country Arc, then we probably wont see a Box Set for quite a while. The Story Arc is still not concluded and is ongoing. This would also mean that the fourth Box Set would contain more than 30 volumes approx., which is unlikely.
